Avoid this product at all cost. This microwave came with our new construction house and this is the 2nd time in 3 years that the door latch mechanism broke. The support is non-existent and if the product is more than 12 months old you will have to pay full price for replacement.

Extremely unreliable and poor customer service

This product was extremely disappointing. It came with the house when we bought it and we have had to replace the same model three times now in four years with a different problem each time. First, it was the door, next it was the actual cooking function, and this time the turning function has broken. I reached out to support asking if this was an acceptable life expectancy for this product and she essentially said that it was. I was offered a small coupon and nothing more. I™€™m extremely disappointed in whirlpool, their product reliability, and their customer support.

It's a nice microwave (replacing an 8 year old Maytag). The one thing I do not like about it is the absence of a 0 to 9 keypad. Everyone ask..."how do you work this thing?" You can't just enter, for example, 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Not Safe with young children.

While the have a 2-step 'safety' unlock feature, they left out the standard child safety lock. So my child may not be able to open when i am cooking, but they can open it when it is not in use, throw forks inside and and create a big problem. This is a gross oversight.

The main complaint is the child ™€œstop™€ mechanism before the door will open (I have disabled it). The door wouldn™€™t open without lifting the door (with a dinner knife) a 16th of an inch by the 2nd month of use. It did take twice of disabling the lock button for it to remain off.

Crappy door latch

Worked well until door latch broke the day before Thanksgiving. New home install. Not sure actual warranty period, but anyone forgetting the 2-step door opening sequence, pushing on the latch, seems to gradually weaken and break the mechanism!

This microwave came with our new home and has already broke after 4 months. Trying to get in touch with Whirlpool about the warranty service call is like trying to win the lottery. I have been on hold with them for a combined 3 hours and have yet to be able to speak to anyone. I have also tried to do it with their online chat only to be told I would need to call the customer service number.

Door release broken and pathetic service

We got this whirlpool microwave that came in with our new construction home. The microwave™€™s door doesn™€™t open even though we press the door release button firmly. There is no other way to open it. I™€™ve tried to setup a service appointment online and the page errored saying I need to call. I called the service number and was kept on hold for an hour before a rep picked up. The rep took my address, model and serial number without giving me a case number and put me on hold for another hour and ultimately disconnecting the call. The service is pathetic and the microwave is unusable.

It works, which is better then I can say about the previous model of this microwave I had, But I hate that it doesn™€™t have actual buttons to put on the exact time and you have to hit an additional button to unlock the door every time you use it. Not functionality wise, I ordered a stainless steel and there™€™s a less than an inch strip of stainless steel at the top so it looks like a plain black microwave with a stainless steel price an inch strip

There is no clock button to set clock. Tried to find model number on whirlpool website and says no such model. They don™€™t give you manuals anymore. Worst company I ever dealt with. Have a new refrigerator also from whirlpool and runs so load can™€™t here tv. Called after waiting 20 mins and their service dept told me if the repair person shows up and cannot find anything, they will charge me a $125.00 service fee. This company sucks.

Bought to replace our old over the stove microwave. Very happy with it. It has some new features compared to the old one. It is relatively easy to learn how things work. It is trial by error on some of the foods. All in all it is very nice. It is part of a new kitchen remodel.
